Wedding Music to make your day truly memorable

The Cellists playing wedding music in Ireland

This is your big day! Providing a helpful and friendly service is essential to The Cellists. We will do all we can to help you have the wedding music which will make your day truly memorable.

We provide church or civil ceremony music and can play during the Drinks Reception and Wedding Breakfast. We have carefully selected music which we feel shows off the expressive singing and mellow qualities of the cello. Our selection ranges from popular classical to film favourites, jazz and popular chart hits – everything to create an ambient atmosphere at your wedding.  And if there is a piece of music you particularly love or want to hear that does not appear on our repertoire list, we will be happy to find and arrange any requests.

“We had such a wonderful day and the music you provided created the perfect atmosphere for our ceremony and reception.”

Before the Ceremony

We can play music to set the scene as your guests enter the ceremony room and wait for the big entrance.  We recommend about 30 minutes of music before the ceremony, and we work closely with wedding organisers, hotel staff and ministers to ensure the entrance music starts at the right time.

The Wedding Ceremony

During the ceremony we play music for the entrance of the bride and/or the wedding party.  We can play any pieces you would like – it’s your day!  Here are some ideas clips of pieces you might want to consider for the entrance of the Bride: ‘Pachelbel’s Canon’ and ‘A Thousand Years’.

If you want more of an upbeat entrance, we also play a number of tunes that are more lively, take a look at our Listen & See page!

We also play music during the signing of the register.  This part of the ceremony can take up to 15 minutes by the time you’ve got everything signed, and your photographer and guests have taken their turn to get a photo!  We work closely with you and your celebrant or minister to choose the right music for this section.  The music for your exit down the aisle is a celebration piece and could be a traditional favourite, such as Mendelssohn’s Wedding March or something completely different, like Beyonce’s Crazy in Love!

We are also happy to take requests for music to be played during reflective parts of your ceremony and are also able to lead hymns for smaller congregations.

Drinks Reception & Wedding Breakfast

If you are having a civil ceremony, we can often play for up to an hour at your drinks reception as part of our standard 2 hour booking.  Your guests will be chatting over their prosecco at this stage, and you may well have been whisked off for your photos by your photographer.  We are happy to play any music requests you might have for us, whether you have lots or only a few specific songs from our music list that you would like to hear.  Alternatively, you can leave it up to us to match the music to the vibe of the room, or decide on classical or modern music, or a mix of both!

We have up to 6 hours of music, which is more than enough for us to play from before your ceremony and right to the end of your wedding breakfast.  We are happy to play any particular favourites in order to make your arrival into the room more of an impact.
